UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA AT BIRMINGHAM Department of Philosophy seeks to fill two one-year positions as Assistant Professor. For each position we expect to have a tenure track position the following year for which successful candidate may apply. Area of specialization: any area of analytic philosophy. Area of competence for one of the positions: one or more of the following: philosophy of mind, epistemology, philosophy of science. Area of competence for the other position: one or more of the following: ethics, political philosophy, philosophy of law. Ph.D. preferred. Course load for the one-year positions: 8 courses. Salary competitive. Fall term begins August 15.
